Ravin R500E Crossbow Breaks the 500 fps Speed Barrier

The new-for-2021 Ravin R500E raises the bar with the fastest crossbow yet with speeds of 500 fps.

Ravin R500E Crossbow Breaks the 500 fps Speed Barrier

Featuring the company’s new proprietary HexCoil cam system, the Ravin R500E crossbow produces blazing speeds of 500 fps with a 400-grain arrow. It has an axle-to-axle width of only 3.6 inches when cocked (not a misprint) and 7.6 inches when uncocked. The bow is 28 inches long and weighs 9.9 pounds.

The R500E also features the new Ravin Electric Drive system, that allows users to simply press a button to cock and decock this crossbow, with the option of manually cocking the crossbow with the included R500 draw handle. The Ravin Electric Drive consists of a 12-volt battery and motor unit that simply attach and detach to the stock. Both the battery and the motor unit can be easily detached for storage or to recharge on the charging dock.

The R500E also utilizes Ravin’s new VersaDrive cocking system — a dual screw drive that moves the Trac Trigger firing system (TTFS) back and forth. The internal clutch within the VersaDrive system eliminates over-cocking and allows cocking or decocking to be stopped at any time during the process.

The field-ready kit comes fully assembled and pre-tuned, and includes six Ravin arrows with field points, a removeable draw handle, quiver with mounting bracket, 100-yard illuminated 550 FPS scope, anti-dry fire/auto safety, and built-in sling mounts. It is finished in Slate Gray and will be available spring 2021. MSRP: $3,349.99. Contact: www.ravincrossbows.com
