Pennsylvania Covid-19 Restrictions Prevent NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show for 2021

Covid-related governmental restrictions in Pennsylvania will prevent the 2021 Great American Outdoor Show from being held as scheduled on Feb. 6-14, 2021.

Since the NRA created the Great American Outdoor Show in 2014, the show has been a much-anticipated annual event and a major boon for the state and local economy. More than 1,100 exhibitors and tens of thousands of people would converge on the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex each year contributing approximately $75 million to area businesses and state coffers, according to official local estimates.

Hornady and Leupold Win Manufacturer of the Year Awards

Hornady Manufacturing has once again been recognized as the Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW). This marks the 10th consecutive year that Hornady has taken the Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year title.

In related news, Leupold & Stevens, Inc. was recognized as the Optics Manufacturer of the Year by the NASGW. The announcement marks the 10th year in a row that Leupold has been named Optics Manufacturer of the Year.

Candidates for Manufacturer of the Year awards are evaluated by the wholesaler members on four criteria: distribution policy; marketing, sales and promotion; logistics and operation; and NASGW and industry support. The comprehensive assessment of manufacturer performance is designed to provide a balanced appraisal that recognizes the best of the best, according to NASGW distributor members.

NSSF Praises Senate Confirmation of Associate Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett

NSSF praised the U.S. Senate confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Justice Barrett fills the vacancy on the court left following the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Justice Barrett joins at least four other U.S. Supreme Court Justices who are rooted in originalism and interpret the Constitution as meaning today what it meant when it was drafted by the Founding Fathers.

Justice Barrett listed a Second Amendment-related case, Kanter v Barr, as the most important opinion she authored. She dissented in that opinion at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Justice Barrett disagreed the with court’s opinion that non-violent felons who are not a public safety threat should be stripped of Second Amendment rights that are protected by the U.S. Constitution based on originalist interpretation of the law.
