Easton Foundations to Match Lancaster Archery Foundation’s Fundraising Effort in September

Lancaster Archery Foundation works to grow competitive archery by providing grants to grassroots organizations. And during the month of September 2022, Easton Foundations has pledged to double Lancaster’s efforts by matching all donations to Lancaster Archery Foundation up to $100,000.

As an example of Lancaster Archery Foundation’s work, the Cyclones Archery Team of Ottawa, Kansas, recently received a grant for $1,000 from Lancaster.

The Cyclones have an active team, with young archers competing in 3-D, indoor and field archery. The team works in the local community recruiting new members, but often has difficulty providing introductory equipment to prospective new archers.

The recent grant from the Lancaster Archery Foundation allowed the Cyclones to buy some Genesis bows, which the team can loan to kids interested in archery, who don’t have their own equipment. The team hopes by providing equipment, it can help young archers develop an interest in archery.

That’s the type of program donors can affect through contributions to the Lancaster Archery Foundation. And with Easton Foundations matching all donations up to $100,000 during September, donors can double their impact right now.

Donations can be made to the Lancaster foundation in a few ways. Customers shopping on the Lancaster Archery Supply website – www.lancasterarchery.com - can make contributions through the “round-up program feature,” which allows customers to increase their purchase total to a round number. The difference between the purchase total and the amount billed to the customer goes to the foundation. Customers can also add a fixed dollar amount to their order upon checkout on the Lancaster Archery Supply website.

Customers shopping at the Lancaster Archery Pro Shop, or with a Customer Service Techxpert on the phone, can add a donation to their total upon checkout. Donations also can be made as contributions given directly to the foundation through its website, www.lancasterarcheryfoundation.org.

In a feature video produced by Lancaster Archery Supply in conjunction with the Easton Foundations, Easton President Greg Easton talks about Easton’s 100 years in archery and introduces the challenge grant initiative. That video can be seenhere.

New Owners at Russell Moccasin

The W.C. Russell Moccasin Company of Berlin, Wisconsin, makers of custom-fitted hand-crafted outdoor footwear since 1898, has been purchased by Luke Kolbie, founder of Kingfisher Leatherworks and Joe Julian, president and owner of Julian & Sons. Russell Moccasin Chief Operating Officer Joe Gonyo will continue in his role leading the day-to-day production of Russell’s moccasin-style boots and shoes.

Luke Kolbie will serve as the new CEO of Russell Moccasin. He said, “As a fourth generation Russell Moccasin wearer, the opportunity to be a steward of this company that has been so closely connected to both my heritage and that of the entire sporting community is a humbling and exciting experience.”

Joe Julian, no stranger to world-class craftsmanship noted that, “This is a personal, not just business partnership for me. Luke and I are good friends and share the same ‘Conservation through Craftsmanship’ approach to business. We are united in the hope that the Russell Moccasin community will both support and hold us accountable to this philosophy. It is a foundational concept for both of us as we begin our tenure as the stewards of the Russell Moccasin legacy.”

Ralph “Lefty” Fabricius, second-generation owner and president of Russell Moccasin, said, “Time marches on! It has been a privilege being a part of the Russell Moccasin legacy. I wish our new owners Luke and Joe continued success in the Russell Moccasin tradition.”

Suzie Fabricius, third generation owner of Russell Moccasin, said, “It is never easy selling a family heirloom, but we are most gratified that Luke Kolbie and Joe Julian are committed to continuing our traditional method of custom manufacturing in Berlin, Wisconsin. What is most important to all of us is keeping the integrity of the product and its traditional manufacturing processes in place. That way our customers can be assured they are still receiving the same quality footwear they have purchased throughout the years at Russell Moccasin. The only change you should notice will be in the faces at the helm of the RMC. We have operated virtually unchanged for more than 124 years. We are thrilled that Luke and Joe share our same values, sustaining and building upon the Russell Moccasin heritage.”
