Uberti USA Bonney 1873 Cattleman, Wild Bill 1851 Conversion

Known for its authentic reproduction firearms, Uberti USA will showcase its Bonney 1873 Cattleman and Wild Bill 1851 Navy Conversion replica revolvers. Chambered in .45 Long Colt, the Bonney 1873 Cattleman features a simulated bison horn bird's head grip, color case frame and blued steel barrel measuring 5 ½ inches. Hickok was rarely seen without his two muzzle-loading, ivory-handled 1851 Navy Revolvers. Uberti USA pays tribute to the legacy of Wild Bill Hickok with the 1851 Navy Conversion, which is more practically chambered for the easily available .38 special.

Speer: Impact Bullets, Gold Dot G2

Show attendees who stop by the Vista Outdoor booth (No. 4955) will get a first look at new Speer Impact component bullets for reloaders and Gold Dot G2 handgun ammunition, now released to the consumer market.

The Speer Impact bullet blends molecularly bonded construction with a high ballistic coefficient. Its groundbreaking Slipstream polymer tip provides an aerodynamic meplat, and its hollow core initiates expansion at velocities 200 fps lower than comparable designs. The combination results in deep penetration at mid-range, as well as extreme accuracy and consistent low-velocity expansion at long distances. These new component bullets are sold in 50-count boxes and are available in 140-grain 6.5mm/264 cal. and both 172- and 190-grain 308 cal.

Previously only offered to law enforcement, Speer Gold Dot G2 offers the ultimate performance for self-defense thanks to an exclusive nose design. Instead of a large hollow-point cavity, Gold Dot G2 has a shallow dish filled with a high-performance elastomer. On impact, the material is forced into engineered internal fissures to start the expansion process. The result is extremely uniform expansion, better separation of the petals, and more consistent penetration across barrier types through full-size handguns. The loads are sold in 20-count boxes and available in 147-grain 9mm Luger, 180-grain 40 S&W and 230-grain 45 Auto +P, with MSRPs ranging from $28.95 to $32.95.

The Mepro Foresight is the first augmented weapon sight on the market, providing essential tactical data projected on the transparent optical lens in real-time (battery level, sensor data, Bluetooth connectivity and in the near future, a shot counter).

The new upgraded Mepro RDS Pro V.2 electro-optical red-dot sight is the latest generation, featuring an optimized combination, 16 brightness levels, and red and green aiming patterns with multiple selections of aiming patterns through a large crystal clear, transparent display window.

The newest addition to the RDS and RDS Pro series, the MicroRDS, is a small, rugged, energy efficient, electro-optical red dot sight designed for handguns, shotguns and rifles with a large display window and a clearly defined red-dot for fast target acquisition with both eyes open. The MicroRDS Kit includes a patent-pending dovetail adapter with a quick release mechanism that allows mounting and dismounting on the gun with a click of a finger. The adapter includes high-quality Meprolight Night Sights that allow accurate and fast shooting under any lighting conditions when the MicroRDS Optic is removed.

Varmint hunters require sights that allow them to detect targets in total darkness. The Mepro NYX-200 is a multispectral dual-channel thermal weapon sight. This robust sight is available in several configurations, all providing a high-resolution thermal channel with 640x480 microbolometer core and a 17µ pixel size. It also provides a sensitive camera channel, featuring a 1280x640 microbolometer core low-light or day camera. It can quickly be changed from hand-held to weapons mount and vice versa.

For professionals requiring a multi-purpose sight capable of day/night integration and fast transition between long range and CQC situations, the Mepro MOR Pro reflex sight offers two laser pointers (visible and IR). The passive reflex is self-illuminated for anytime use and the active reflex offers an brighter LED dot for special lighting circumstances. Red or green laser pointers for urban or close quarter scenarios can easily be activated. An IR laser pointer for covert operations gives the user the ultimate advantage. The combined zeroing system co-aligns the aiming pattern and the two laser pointers into a single zeroing procedure, saving time and increasing accuracy.

Federal To Introduce Concept for Online Custom-Loaded Ammo

Details are still being worked out, but Federal will unveal its concept for helping customers with a new custom-loaded ammuntion online store called the Federal Custom Shop.

This is planned for a summer launch, so it's not available yet. Officials with Federal are still working out some details but the plan is far enough along to reveal to the public. The nut is that customers will be able to order direct from several different shotshell and centerfire rifle offerings, with a wide selection of bullets from Federal, Nosler, Sierra, Berger, Swift and others.

Also, the wildly popular and lethal custom TSS Shotshells for turkey, waterfowl and upland game can be ordered in custom designs. In short, if it's not in Federal's widespread offerings already then the company has the components and capablity to build it for you. These won't be crazy wildcat loads or some double-powder big critter stomper loads, either,  so don't get any wild ideas. But, for example, if you wanted a TSS turkey or waterfowl load with more of one pellet size and less of another, it could be done.

Each Custom Shop round will be loaded to order by our team of expert engineers in Federal's state-of-the-art reloading workshop. The veteran craftsmen will combine the best components with extra quality checks at every stage for the most consistent velocity, accuracy and overall performance. Loads will be hand-checked for final inspection and cleaned before being custom-packed in durable, personalized packaging.

The Custom Shop handloading facility is located in a specialized room at Federal’s main factory in Anoka, Minnesota. The Custom Shop is not open to the public, and is an virtual shop only.

Federal asks those not attending the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits to sign-up for its e-newsletter for updates on when the Custom Shop will open and for specific options that will be available. Visit Federal’s homepage, scroll down to the bottom and click “Get the Latest” to sign up.
