As the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of archery, one of USA Archery's core missions is to grow and promote the sport at all levels and for archers of all abilities by providing the necessary tools and resources for coaches, judges, and event organizers nationwide. This partnership is a part of Disabled Sports USA's Adapt2Achieve program, which aims to strengthen and develop community-based sports programs through adaptive sports training and education initiatives.

Adaptive ArcheryThe 2nd Edition manual, available for free download here, features a new layout and design and has been updated to better accompany the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor program. It also includes the Adaptive Archery Video Series from USA Archery's Mobile Coach Platform.

The manual is designed to illustrate how simple it is to integrate adaptive archery into an existing archery program. Using slight modifications to equipment or teaching technique, coaches and club leaders can ensure they are providing a safe and effective program where everyone can achieve success. The tools included in this manual will help create a safe and fun environment that inspires adaptive archers to cultivate a lifelong passion for the sport.

USA Archery's Chief of Sport Performance Mary Emmons commented: "The second edition of the Adaptive Archery Instruction Manual provides additional resources to further help instructors to improve their adaptive archery programs. Through collaboration with Disabled Sports USA and their Adapt2Achieve Program we hope to further increase the accessibility of our sport and increase the depth of the Paralympic athlete development pipeline."

Disabled Sports USA Executive Director Glenn Merry said: "We are delighted to once again partner with USA Archery to update and enhance the Adaptive Archery Instructor's Manual, which provides archery instructors the opportunity to introduce the sport to new athletes and ensure students of all ages and abilities can have a safe and successful experience.”

USA Archery also offers many sanctioned event opportunities, outreach camps for disabled veterans and High Performance Para Archery Training Camps throughout the year with the focus of promoting athlete development and participation.
