The 6-minute YouTube video below highlights the development process behind the new Dirty Bird Turkey Broadheadfrom G5 Outdoors. It was designed in collaboration with well-known bowhunter Chris Bee.

As someone who has been promoting head/neck shots on wild turkeys for decades, and written about it several times on this website, I’m excited to see this new product. It’s a 3-inch-cutting diameter, 125-grain, fixed-blade head, but you fold the three blades forward (closed) to place it in a standard quiver for easy transportation. It’s a smart system.

The video is outstanding. It provides a behind-the-scenes look at how Chris Bee and the team from G5 worked together to design, test and ultimately bring the Dirty Bird to market. And it has some incredible footage from turkey hunts, too. The broadhead looks deadly on wild turkeys and I look forward to trying it out this spring.

FYI: The Dirty Bird is sold as a two-pack for $69.95; it also comes with a 125-grain field point. Replacement blades are also available; a six-pack of blades and fittings sells for $19.95. The full-length four-fletch arrows you see used in the video are BeeReal Turkey Arrows; click here to check them out. They’re sold in a two-pack for $64.99.
