NRA Announces New Dates for 150th Annual Meetings and Exhibits

The National Rifle Association Annual Meeting and Exhibits will now take place on Sept. 3-5, 2021. The event was originally scheduled for mid-May, but uncertainties from COVID-19 pandemic restrictions gave reason to push the dates back.

2021 marks the 150th anniversary of the meetings and exhibits, and the event is open and free to all NRA members. Approximately 850 exhibitors will be present in the exhibit hall offering attendees a one-of-a-kind experience with thousands of firearms on display from a multitude of manufacturers. Some events will require a ticket for entry, but tickets can be ordered in advance.

Members should watch their monthly membership magazine for continued updates and the latest information on event details.

Primary Arms Optics and Legacy Sports International Add to List of NSSF Donators

Primary Arms Optics and Legacy Sports International join the growing list of industry companies that have contributed to the NSSF after the SHOT Show cancellation.

Primary Arms Optics recently announced that they will donate half of its show expenses to the NSSF to help support operations in 2021. “Today more than ever, we need a strong NSSF as the leading advocate for the firearms industry,” says Marshall Lerner, Primary Arms’ founder and CEO. “With the cancelation of SHOT 2021, I felt it was our duty to turn our deposit into a donation to support their work.”

Primary Arms Optics goes on to say that what the NSSF brings to the firearms industry cannot be understated and that NSSF operations and outreach are certain to play a pivotal role in uniting the firearms industry and community.

Along with Primary Arms Optics, Legacy Sports International happily donated to the cause as well. “We are proud to support the NSSF in its vital efforts in stewardship across the Firearms Industry. With the SHOT Show 2021 being cancelled, we felt compelled to support such a crucial part of our industry as a whole,” said Rick Hanke, CEO and president of Legacy Sports International. “We are glad to offer a donation of $10,000 to the National Shooting Sports Foundation in effort to assist with their fundraising challenges.”

Legacy Sports International is a leading importer and exporter of firearms and optics based out of Reno, Nevada that import brands like POINTER shotguns, CITADEL brands, Howa rifles, Nikko Stirling Optics and Hardy rifles.

Big Horn Armory Donates to Wyoming Wildlife Federation

The Wyoming Wildlife Federation (WWF) began the Hunters for the Hungry Program (H4H) in 2018 to help food-insecure families get meals during the holiday season. Big Horn Armory’s donation this year of $3,000 will help 3,245 meals get to those who need it within Wyoming.

“We are thrilled to be able to do something to help out our community in Wyoming during the holiday season through our donation, ensuring that more Wyoming citizens will get a healthy meal during the end of this unforgettable year,” says Greg Buchel, president of Big Horn Armory.

The H4H program began by supporting two counties in Wyoming but now reaches out to four counties and is looking to expand to more by next year. Over the last two years, 2,350 pounds of meat has been donated to families in need. The program connects hunter and meat processors with food charities to give back to the community through nutritious wild game. Mule deer, whitetail, moose, elk, antelope, bison and goat is taken to a local processor in the state of Wyoming where it is portioned and labeled as wild game, not for sale and CWD-free if necessary, before being dispersed.

“A great Wyoming company giving back to put healthy, wild game on the tables of those in need is about as good as it gets. A very big thank you to Big Horn Armory.” says Dwayne Meadows, executive director of WWF.

Comp-Tac Launches New ERP System

Comp-Tac has recently completed the enactment of the Infor Visual enterprise manufacturing resource planning (ERP) system.

The system enables companies to maintain a competitive advantage in manufacturing by helping deliver quality products resourcefully and on time. The use of the system will benefit customers in the long run after Comp-Tac’s manufacturing is streamlined and more efficient. With this implementation, buyers of Comp-Tac holsters and accessories can expect quicker turnaround on orders.

“Since Comp-Tac was founded in 2001, one of our four driving principals has been to deliver on time with one of the shortest lead times in the industry,” explained Gordon Carrell, Comp-Tac general manager. “By continuing to invest in systems and technology, like Visual, we’ve lowered our current business lead time from 8-25 business days to 8-20 business days depending on order size while maintaining a rejection ratio of 0.0147%. In 2020, Comp-Tac faced record-breaking order volume, and we are proud that we maintained and even improved those numbers.”
